security and reliability: Now in its second generation, this innovative Software in Silicon design includes Data Analytics Accelerator (DAX) engines designed directly into the SPARC M8 processor silicon to handle SQL primitives, such as those used by Oracle Database In-Memory starting in Oracle Database 12c.The DAX units can also be leveraged by Java applications operating on streams of data through the use of open APIs. The accelerators operate on data at full memory speeds, taking advantage of the very high memory bandwidth of the processor.
